  1. St. Elizabeth's Church Santo Cristo Feast

    September 8, 2017 - September 10, 2017

Feasts will be celebrated on the following weekends: Holy Ghost June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Holy Trinity June 9th, 10th, and 11th. Santo Cristo September 8th, 9th, and 10th. If you have not been to one of these feasts it is well worth your time. Most feasts have a procession which ends at the Church, there is usually music and dancing in traditional Azorean style, plenty of fresh cooked Portuguese food at very reasonable rates, malasadas to die for, and later in the evening and animal auction. The feasts are great family events and a good look at the Azores without the travel.

  2. The Music of Joni Mitchell at Linden Place Mansion

    September 10, 2017, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Linden Place Ballroom

Joni Mitchell is one of the most influential songwriters of our time. Her style links the worlds of acoustic music with rock, jazz, and classical. Her lyrical sense and poetic imagery are as visual as they are musical. The songwriter has not toured in many years. So what’s a Joni fan to do? Catch Debra Mann live at Linden Place! Join us for an afternoon of music as we celebrate this highly influential artist in the Linden Place Ballroom. Debra Mann and her band will interpret the iconic music of Joni Mitchell through a jazz lens. Mann, pianist and vocalist, has performed in the northeast for three decades. Her own artistry was deeply influenced by Joni’s music—from her folk years through her deep exploration into jazz. This is not Mann’s first time covering Mitchell’s work. Earlier performances were so memorable that her fans asked for an encore. As an added attraction, Debra’s band features the mega talents of Dino Govoni (sax), Dave Zinno (bass), and Marty Richards (drums).
