Home Repair Program Contractor Information

The Town of Bristol is seeking qualified contractors for inclusion on its bid list for its Home Repair Program.  Contractors needed for this list include general, electrical, plumbing, heating, and masonry contractors.  This program is funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development through the CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) program.

Required Qualifications

  • A Rhode Island License and be registered with the State Board of Contractor’s Registration
  • A Lead-Safe Re-modeler/Renovator License*
  • Liability and Worker's Compensation Insurance

*Need to become a lead-certified contractor? Take one 8-hour course through an approved program to receive your initial certification, and then re-certify in a shorter course every five years.  The initial cost will depend upon the provider, but range between $100 and $200.  Below are resources nearby that offer these and other training opportunities:
