BRISTOL, RI—On Saturday March 14, 2020, Town Administrator Steven Contente declared a State of Emergency in the Town of Bristol, Rhode Island. In response to the latest information, guidance and mandates issued by Governor Gina Raimondo and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), the Town is announcing several new measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19:

  • All entertainment licenses, temporary mass gathering licenses and event permits issued by the Town of Bristol are hereby revoked, and no new licenses or permits shall be issued.

  • All Town license holders are restricted from serving or gathering more than 100 patrons at a time.

  • All non-essential public meetings will be cancelled and rescheduled.

  • All Town offices and departments may operate on a modified schedule and may restrict in-person business activities.

“Through these actions, it’s our hope that we can minimize the spread of COVID-19”, said Town Administrator Contente, “I am asking that all residents follow the health safety guidelines issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health. With continued cooperation, we can get through this together as a community and protect our most vulnerable populations.”
